Community Foundation of Switzerland County, Inc. Funds

Community Funds

Community Funds help meet the changing needs of Switzerland County, now and in the future. Grants from these funds broadly support the well-being and vitality of Switzerland County and its residents. The Board of Directors of the Community Foundation oversees the use of these funds and determines how grants will be distributed.

Donor Advised Funds
Donor Advised Funds are established by individuals who wish to actively participate in the grant making process. Donors recommend to the Foundation’s Board of Directors charitable projects or organizations that they want to support. It is easy to give to multiple nonprofit organizations through a donor-advised fund.

Field of Interest Funds

Field of Interest Funds enable a donor to support an area of interest, such as the arts, environment, children or health. The Community Foundation’s Board of Directors then make grants from the fund to advance work being done in that particular field.

Scholarship Funds can be established to help students at any education level, from kindergarten to PhD. Donors, if they choose, may determine the criteria for the scholarship and participate in the recipient selection process.

Acorn Funds

Acorn Funds are designed to allow a donor to gradually add money to a fund until it reaches the $5,000 ($10,000 for scholarships) minimum. Once it reaches the $5,000 minimum ($10,000 for scholarships), the donor can convert it to any of the types of funds described above.
