Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library Books Free to Switzerland County Residents Age 0 to 5

The Community Foundation of Switzerland County Inc. launched the Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program in Switzerland County in 2006.  The program provides specially-selected, age-appropriate books to registered Switzerland County children at home each month from birth to age five.  Best of all, the program is free to the enrolled children and their families.

Parents of eligible children are encouraged to visit the website www.imaginationlibrary.com.  Here, parents can enroll their children and have access to several resources including tips for reading to children and family engagement activities.  If parents prefer, they may call the Community Foundation’s office at 812-427-9160 to enroll their children in the program.

As the administrator of Switzerland County’s Imagination Library program, the Community Foundation promotes the program, registers children to participate in the program and enters information into the book order system.  The wholesale cost of the books and the cost to mail the books to children in the county is paid for by the Community Foundation and the Vevay-Switzerland County Foundation.  The Dollywood Foundation covers all overhead expenses, provides the database and coordinates and fulfills the monthly book order.

Anyone interested in learning more about the Imagination Library program in Switzerland County may call the Community  Foundation’s office or email info@cfsci.org.
