Dolly Parton's Imagination Library Now Offering Online Registrations
The Community Foundation of Switzerland County, Inc. (CFSCI) is pleased to announce that parents or guardians wanting to sign their children up for the Dolly Parton's Imagination Library may now do so online. For a child to be eligible for the program, they must reside in Switzerland County and be between the ages of 0 and 5. Once registered, the child will receive a free book each month in the mail addressed personally to them.
Pam Acton, executive director of the Community Foundation, reminds everyone "We can only send books to children whose parents or guardians register them. We are offering online registration to make the process as easy as possible for everyone. However, we will continue to have registration brochures in many locations throughout the county- just look for Dolly Parton on the front of the brochure."
For those parents or guardians interested in signing their children up online, they must:
- Go to www.imaginationlibrary.com
- On the map, click on the United States
- If asked, indicate what type of internet connection you have
- Choose "First Time Users"
- Choose "I Want to enroll my child"
- Click the grey rock that says "GO"
- Accept the terms and follow the steps provided on the screen.
For those parents or guardians who already have children enrolled in the program, they must call the Community Foundation's office at 427-9160 so that the Foundation's staff can update the registration and enable the parent or guardian to have an online account for their child.
Creating an online account for Switzerland County's Dolly Parton's Imagination Library will enable a parent or guardian to:
- See that your child or children are listed
- Make any updates to the account to ensure all books are properly delivered
- If you are moving, you must change your child's information to reflect your new address to ensure all books continue to be delivered. (If you are moving out of Switzerland County, your child may still be able to receive their books if your new location has this program.)
- If your address has changed due to the recent re-addressing program, please check to make sure your new address is listed for all your children.
The Community Foundation of Switzerland County, Inc. serves as the fiscal sponsor for Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. The program is being paid for through grants from the Community Foundation of Switzerland County, Switzerland County School Corporation with assistance from the Switzerland County School Endowment, the United Fund of Switzerland County and the Vevay Switzerland County Foundation.
"Our purpose is to improve early childhood literacy in Switzerland County. By working with the Dollywood Foundation, our goal is to get every child living in Switzerland County between birth and their fifth birthday registered into the program" said Acton. The Dollywood Foundation is a 501c(3) non-profit foundation founded in 1988 by Dolly Parton. The mission of the foundation is to share the life and legacy of Dolly Parton as an inspiration for children to "Dream More...Learn More...Care More...and Be More".
